Shoulder Terminology

Movements:
Abduction: Shoulder movement away from the body sideways
Adduction: Shoulder movement across the front of the body
Forward Flexion: Shoulder movement away from the body forwards
Extension: Movement backwards (part of reaching behind your back)
Internal Rotation: The second part of reaching between your shoulder blade
External Rotation: Turning the arm outwards

Bones, etc:
Acromion: Upper projection of bone from the scapula
Bursa Space that allows gliding between tendons and other structures
Clavicle: Collar bone
Deltoid muscle: Muscle that covers the shoulder joint
Humerus: Upper arm bone
Humeral head: Ball part of the shoulder joint
Glenoid: Socket part of the shoulder joint
Rotator cuff: Soft tissue socket that stabilises the shoulder joint comprising the tendons of Subscapularis, Supraspinatus, Infraspinatus and Teres Minor muscles
Subacromial: Under the acromion
Scapula: Shoulder blade
Tuberosity: Projection from a bone to which a tendon or muscle is usually attached
