Golfers Elbow

This problem presents with pain on the inner aspect of the elbow that interferes with gripping activities. It is similar to tennis elbow, presenting usually after the age of 40 and is self-limiting usually resolving between 12 and 24 months. It is unrelated to golf and affects all individuals whatever their occupation or physical activities. Treatment is similar to tennis elbow but more unpredictable. Steroid injections are used but their effects are frequently short lived. Physiotherapy is the mainstay of supportive treatment. Surgery is not commonly used to resolve the pain. Other causes presenting a similar picture include compression of the ulnar nerve behind the inner part ( condyle ) of the humerus or arthritis of the elbow joint.
